Here the patient is presented with a single letter, and is instructed to think of as many words as possible beginning with that letter. The rest condition used varies across studies. We have adopted perhaps the best-validated version to date; that developed by Silvia Bonelli and John Duncan's group at UCL. The version in the OM battery uses five task blocks, and a rest control. All run for 30s duration.
